We are living in a time where more and more services are being offered electronically via the Internet. I would like to make available to you an alternative to in-person therapy sessions, if you like. It is referred to as Telehealth and can provide benefits as well as cautions.
I can offer you therapy sessions via your computer and internet connection. This is dependent upon your computer equipment and internet provider having the capacity to take advantage of such services.
A few things to consider when engaging in telehealth:
· Your session is confidential and private. Therefore, please find a quiet, private place where you will not be overheard during your session. Also, prepare ahead of time to reduce distractions.
· Be aware of your background. If there is something you may not wish me to see, you may want to remove or cover it before the session.
· Computer generated backgrounds are not allowed.
· Video sessions have a limited scope of vision, therefore, we shall let each other know if there are any other persons in the room or having access to our conversation at any time during our session.
· If we have not met in person, I will require verification of your identity. This may take the form of a state/government issued picture ID.
Please refer to your Telehealth Addendum document for additional information.
